Welcome to the Pegelow Post.
I have enjoyed working on genealogy for over 40 years. Originally, my older sister, Mary, got me hooked on this pastime and I have been doing research ever since. Now, my wife and I do our research together. Some Pegelow info is still on her site "thetintypeshop," but nothing new on the Pegelows have been added to her site for years. I am now retired and will be using this site to share and hopefully, adding more and new Pegelow information to my database. I will comment on the correct pronunciation, the origin of the name, the place previously called Pegelow, reasons for immigration and the Pegelows that emigrated that I have been able to track. Census, available public records, German church records, publications, and other data will be used. I have found that my family roots stretch from North America to Europe and through the various lines, we stretch through time like the many roots of a great and ancient tree. Breaking the time barriers has been rewarding. I hope you will enjoy reading about my discoveries in the pages as we grow together.
