About Me

Hi, I'm Gary Pegelow. Thanks for visiting my site!

I grew up in a small city in Central Wisconsin, where I lived with my parents and my numerous siblings. My father and grandfather were born in Dodge County, Wisconsin. My great grandfather emigrated 1868 from NeuRüdnitz, Kreis Koenigsberg, Neumark, and settled at Hubbard Town, Dodge County. By 1872 he had a working farm and a life long help-mate. I located his parents, siblings, and both sets of his grandparents by corresponding with an archiv at Danzig in East Germany many years ago. My Mother was born in Waushara County, Wisconsin, and lived at Calgary, Alberta, Canada from about 1915 to 1929. The Black and Harmon Families (cousins) had settled there and acquired farmland at rock bottom prices as the Canadian government was pushing for settlement of their western provinces during this period.I have enjoyed working on genealogy for about 40 years. My wife and I do our research together. I have found my family roots stretch from North America to Europe and through the various lines, we stretch through time like the many roots of a great and ancient tree. Breaking the time barriers has been rewarding. I hope you will enjoy reading about my discoveries in the pages as we grow together.
